Just to kick the ball off, this is a photo of Ryan nearly getting his first Six Gold End
Ryan wanted to add his own words, so here they are.
After getting a taste for Archery on Holiday, my name was put on the waiting list for Exeter Company of Archers. Soon I found myself doing the 6 week course, that was July 2005 and I’ve been hooked ever since!
There is so much to find out about Archery, different names for rounds, distance’s, bows etc. You never get bored and whenever I need help there is always some one willing to give a hand, we have got great coaches!
I like to put my scores in and trying out for the different badges. The club are very easy going. No pressure, it’s something I like doing. Just like when I go to tournaments. Mum lets me know what dates she is free to take me and I say which ones I would like to go to. Normally as many as possible, it’s a great chance to meet up with other Archers, and I just love the spirit of it.
When I first took part in a tournament outside of the club, I’d been doing Archery about 10 months I was very nervous and excited. These days I just get on with it, try my best and enjoy the day. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, there is always some one else you want to cheer on even if you don’t win. I have gained a lot of experience, made some great mates. (Were always chatting even outside of Archery)!
Now I am in the Devon and Cornwall Squad, thanks to the training from Exeter Company of Archers! Giving me more excuses to take part in my favourite sport!
As you can probably tell I love ARCHERY!
